About The Peer Review Quarterly
The Peer Review Quarterly is an independent editorial guide to peer support, mutual aid and community mental health in the Niagara region.
The Peer Review Quarterly is an independent editorial publication about peer support, mutual aid and community mental health. It is written for readers in the Niagara region and beyond who want to understand how lived experience becomes practical help, and how peer-led groups are built and sustained.
We are not a service provider. We do not offer counselling, crisis support, case management or referrals. We are not a former organisation under a new name, and we do not claim to continue any earlier entity. We publish explanatory journalism and editorial guides. Nothing here is clinical advice or a substitute for professional care.
Our editorial focus is threefold. Peer Support Basics explains what peer support is, how it differs from clinical care, and what good practice looks like. Niagara Mutual Aid describes how mutual aid and community mental health efforts take shape across the region. Building Groups offers practical guidance for starting, running and sustaining a peer support group.
We write with care, accuracy and restraint. We avoid speaking for communities. We identify sources, distinguish evidence from opinion, and correct errors openly. Images on this site are illustrative AI images and are not photographs of real people, places or events.
The tagline is lived experience, shared support, stronger community. That is the idea we test, explain and report on. We welcome corrections, clarifications and suggestions for topics that matter to readers in Niagara and elsewhere.
