Editorial Policy

The Peer Review Quarterly is an independent editorial publication. We are not a service provider, a former organisation or a clinical body. We publish explanatory guides and journalism about peer support, mutual aid and community mental health for readers in the Niagara region and beyond. Nothing we publish is clinical advice.

Independence and funding. Our editorial decisions are made by the publication alone. We do not accept payment, gifts or conditions that shape coverage. Where a relationship could affect a story, we disclose it or decline the story.

Accuracy and sourcing. We aim to be accurate, fair and clear. We prefer named sources and public documents. We distinguish evidence from opinion, and we do not present speculation as fact. We avoid speaking for communities or individuals. Where evidence is thin, we say so.

Corrections. We correct errors openly and promptly. A correction request should identify the article, quote the passage, state the correct information and provide evidence. We review each request, decide whether a correction, clarification or right of reply is warranted, and explain our decision. We do not remove accurate reporting to settle a dispute.

Privacy and dignity. We avoid identifying details that could harm people. We do not publish private health information, and we treat lived experience with respect. We do not use first-hand tests or personal accounts as proof of general claims.

Images. All images are illustrative AI images. They are not photographs of real people, places or events, and they should not be read as documentary evidence.
